Classes

Please stop by or call to add your name to the classes that are forming.  Materials and supplies are available at the shop and you will receive a 10% discount on yarns and supplies for the class.  Please pay for the class and supplies prior to start of class and mention the class for a 10% discount.  Class sizes are limited, so please sign up early so you will not be disappointed.  If you can't make one of the scheduled classes, ask about lessons that are available in private.

*Basic Knitting Skills--must know how to cast-on, knit, purl, increase, decrease

*Intermediate Skill level--must be able to read a pattern, have completed a sweater pattern and is comfortable with their knitting skills.

Class Schedule-August 2010

 Need some help class - Having trouble understanding the instructions or a new stitch, or just help in general?   Cindy will help you to figure out your knitting dilemma so that you can complete your project.  This class will be ongoing every Tuesday as long as their is a continued interest.

  Date:  1st and  3rd Tuesdays while demand persists.   Please call before coming, or e-mail  Cindy

Time:  1:30-3:30

Class Cost:  $5.00 a session

Socks on 1 circular needle-- (basic knitting skills) Learn how to knit socks in the round using 1 long circular needle.  You will start out making a top down sock using DK weight yarn.  Sock pattern provided.  You will need safety pin stitch marker, size 3 40" circular needle and DK weight yarn.

Dates:  Wed August 11, 18 & 25                      Time:  11-1

Class Cost:  $35 plus materials.   (Size 3 40" long circular needle and DK weight sock yarn)

Beginning Knitting--This  class is for you if you have never picked up a knitting needle.  Two 2 hour sessions:  Learn how to cast on, do the knit and purl stitch and cast off.

Dates:  Thursday August  5 & 12        Time:  10:30-12:30

Class cost:  $25 plus materials.  You will need worsted weight yarn,  and needles appropriate for yarn

Beginning Lace Shawl-(basic knitting skills required) Learn how to do a simple triangular shawl or shawlette out of Art Yarns Silk Rhapsody.  Come by to see sample

Date:  Friday Aug 13   Time 11-1

Class Cost:  $15 plus materials.  One skein of Silk Rhapsody and Size 10 needles and stitch markers, stitch counter.

Knitting in Both Directions- (basic knitting skills required) learn how to knit (or purl) in the opposite direction.  Stockinette stitch without having to turn your work and purl back. 

Class Times:  Tuesday August 10                         Time:  11-1

Class cost: $20  Bring worsted weight yarn and appropriate size needles.  Booklet included.

Continental Knitting-(basic knitting skills required)  Learn how to knit and purl while carrying the yarn in your left hand.  This technique is also known as "picking" and is faster and easier on your hands.

Class Time:  Tuesday August 24       Time:  11-1

Class cost:  $15 plus materials.  Worsted weight yarn and appropriate needle size.
